Over the last 3 weeks, the Sinarmas World Academy Middle school Makers have been very busy constructing their own paddlewheel boats. First, the students created the hulls of the boats out of styrofoam. Then they designed the paddle wheels of their boats using Tinkercad, before printing them using 3D printers. After that, the 3D printed paddle wheels were attached to the DC motors, and the boats were decorated using acrylic paints. Finally they were taken to the pool to test their seaworthiness in a dramatic race to the finish line (or to the bottom of the pool).
