For movie-goers, 2019 is a year of nostalgic. Many of our old favorite movies are being rebooted this year, especially those from Disney. Here are the reboot and remake movies that you should be looking forward in 2019.

1. Mary Poppins Returns – January

Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives. The movie is starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins along with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer.

2. Dumbo – March

A young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus, but when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer. This version of Dumbo is said to be darker than the old one. Eva Green, Collin Farrel, Michael Keaton, and Dany Devito will star this movie.

3. The Lion King – July

Since its first release, The Lion King movie has been one of the all-time favorite movies for generations. This year, the emotional story of Simba and his family will be brought again in a form of a live-action movie. James Earl Jones is returning to voice his original character, Mufasa, while Donald Glover will take the throne as Simba.

4. Aladdin – May

Adapted from the animation which released in 1992, Aladdin is being rebooted into a musical live-action movie released in the first half of 2019. The movie is directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The casts include Will Smith as Genie and Mena Massoud as Aladdin.

5. Hellboy – April

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge. This rebooted version features a script by Hellboy creator, Mike Mignola, and starred by David Harbour as Hellboy. As well as Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, and Daniel Dae Kim.

6. Pokémon: Detective Pikachu – May

A young man joins forces with Detective Pikachu to unravel the mystery behind his father’s disappearance. Chasing clues through the streets of Ryme City, the dynamic duo soon discover a devious plot that poses a threat to the Pokémon universe. This live-action movie is one of the most anticipated movies in 2019. Ryan Reynolds voices Detective Pikachu, while the movie also stars Suki Waterhouse, Bill Nighy, and Kathryn Newton.

7. Grudge – August

Adapted from the Japan original version, Ju-On: The Curse, the creepy story is being brought again this year into Grudge. This movie is also a reboot of the 2004 American film The Grudge, the second remake of the Japanese horror film Ju-on: The Grudge, and the fourth installment in The Grudge film series. The film stars Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho, Lin Shaye, and Jacki Weaver.

8. The Addams Family – October

A story about the peculiar and ghoulish Addams family will always memorable. Their story then being rebooted in 2019 into a 3D animated movie. Addams family’s lives begin to unravel when they face-off against a greedy crafty reality-TV host while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration. The movie is played by Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Oscar Isaac.

9. Charlie’s Angels – November

The plot of this movie is still unknown. But, Charlie’s Angels 2019 still much anticipated as the story said is based on the television series and action-comedy in 2000. The casts are also anticipating, such as Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.

10. What Men Want – January

What Men Want is a remake of the romantic comedy with the same title released in 2000. It was starred by Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, became one of the most successful romantic movies. The reboot will be starred by Taraji P. Henson.

11. Pet Sematary – April

This movie is based on Stephen King horror novel with the same title which was released on the 80s. As well as the first movie adaption which was released in 1989. The story tells about Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, who relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbor Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.
