Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta Announces “Pick a Fan” Charity Initiative
Welcoming the season of joy, Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta announces its latest Corporate Social Responsibility initiative ‘Pick A Fan’, in partnership with Emmanuel Foundation.
Now in its second year, this programme aims to share the joy of Christmas with 100 lessprivileged children under the care of Emmanuel Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and education of less-fortunate people in Jakarta and West Java. To participate in the programme, guests are invited to collect one or more fans ornaments hanging on the hotel’s Christmas Tree, each containing a child’s name and wish. Guests can then drop the requested gift at the Concierge desk to be delivered to the children.
Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta has partnered with Yayasan Emmanuel since 2003 starting with the Food Rescue Program. For the past 15 years, this programme has helped provide meals each day to over hundreds of thousands of families living in the scavenger communities throughout Jakarta.
The current ‘Pick A Fan’ initiative is aimed to help children who live in families where staying in school is a financial impossibility and proper nutrition is a daily challenge. The gifts and support gathered through this programme will make a tremendous and joyful impact in these children’s lives.
