The 1O1 Travel Sketch Jakarta was held successfully on 3-4 November 2018 and was attended by more than 400 participants and invitees. This activity is dedicated to promoting local destinations, in the center of Jakarta, preserving cultural heritage and heritage of historic buildings or in the city of Jakarta in the form of sketches, as well as encouraging young people to be more creative in actualizing their creativity through sketch drawings at the same time.
Jakarta is the fifth city, after Bogor, Yogyakarta, Bandung and Malang. On the first day, this event is created for participants who want to explore a particular topic through some workshops. There are: Basic Urban Sketching Workshop with Seto Parama and Nadia Mahatmi, Architecture Sketch With Expressive Line & Wash Workshop with Artyan Trihandono, Night Sketching Workshop “Catching Night Activities” with Dhar Chedar, Workshop Stripping the Character “United Colors Of Indonesia” with MICE Cartoon and Workshop Explore The Human Factor In Sketching with guest mentors from Singapore – Don Low.
On the afternoon the official opening ceremony was held and opened by Mr. Triawan Munaf – Head of the Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF), Mr. Hariyadi Sukamdani – Chairman of PHRI and Mr. Budi Tirtawisata – CEO of Panorama Group, also attended by Mr Zamrud Setyanegara – Representative from the Indonesian National Gallery, Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, and other invited guests. The event continued with Sketch Auction, the fund raised will be donated to the victims of natural disasters in Palu-Donggala, Sulawesi.
In the evening a talk show was held with the theme “Sketching Unites Us” with Ben Rahardian, MICE Cartoon, Odie Astadi, Donald S, Zamrud S, Augustinus MP and attended by sketchers from several cities in Indonesia and overseas at THE Hotel 1O1 Jakarta Sedayu Darmawangsa.
On the second day of the 1O1 Sketch travel participants were invited to explore the Monument Pembebasan Irian Barat, Lapangan Banteng, Cathedral Church, Istiqlal Mosque, National Gallery, GPIB Immanuel Church, Jakarta City Hall ( Balaikota Jakarta), Tugu Tani and several other historical and interesting buildings in the center of Jakarta. In the morning, the Sketching for Kids Workshop also held at the National Gallery with Odie Astadi and Sheila Rooswitha. The event was closed with the Sketch Exchange activity at the National Gallery.
The series in several cities was held in order to promote local tourism in Indonesia, especially where PHM has a hotel network and also to celebrate 45 years of Panorama Group – an integrated group of companies focused on tourism, transportation, hospitality and business related, and integrating these activities with the mission of promoting local tourism destinations and social activities (CSR) that focus on community development or education.
