Welcoming this special year-end occasion, Ciputra World Surabaya Hotel presents Christmas with an unusual concept. The hotel located in the Ciputra World Surabaya superblock area has a unique Christmas theme, namely Tropical Christmas. Guests arriving at the hotel are greeted with tropical Christmas decorations. Beyond captivating decorations, to complement the festive Christmas decor and celebrate the joy of Christmas, Ciputra World Surabaya Hotel held a Christmas event with the orphans from Kasih Agape Orphanage featuring fun activities on Monday, December 4, 2023.
Ciputra World Surabaya Hotel Celebrates Christmas with Orphanage Children by Decorating Gingerbread Houses & Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
The event, held in the 8th-floor lobby, began with decorating gingerbread cookies. Children decorated cookies according to their creativity, guided by the Culinary team. Various shapes were prepared by Chef Ferdiyanzah, Pastry Chef, and his team, such as tree shapes, stockings, sandals, gingerbread dolls, and many more. The cookies were then topped with cream based on each child's creation. After enjoying decorating gingerbread cookies, the children were invited to decorate a gingerbread house by placing their creations there. "We are excited to guide the children in their creative process, which undoubtedly has a positive impact by enhancing their creativity," said Ferdiyanzah.
The joyful day continued with a performance by the Laudem Deo choir singing various Christmas songs. After the extraordinary performance by the choir, a sense of darkness filled the lobby. The choir sang the song "Silent Night," followed by a Christmas candle lighting led by Jeffry F., the General Manager. The candlelight was then distributed to everyone present. The lit candles in the midst of darkness symbolized warmth and hope. Following that, the event proceeded with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Children and guests present counted down to the lighting of the Christmas tree and gingerbread house. The Christmas tree and gingerbread house illuminated beautifully. In addition to enjoying the event, the gift-sharing moment added to the excitement. Santa Claus distributed gifts to the children, and not only Santa Claus but also the Swiss-Belhotel International group mascot named Bernie participated, playing and enlivening the event. Laughter from the orphans from Kasih Agape Orphanage in the Pakis Gunung Surabaya area filled the lobby of Ciputra World Surabaya Hotel. The event concluded with a shared meal at The Gallery.
"This Christmas, we celebrate with a different atmosphere. Our lobby is adorned with gingerbread houses and a tropical-themed Christmas tree. In line with our decorations symbolizing joy and happiness, we want to share that joy, happiness, and cheerfulness with the children from Kasih Agape Orphanage.
