An Ottolenghi-inspired Middle Eastern restaurant tucked away in the back streets of Seminyak, Warung Chickpea ain’t your typical Indonesian warung. For starters, this fresh, healthy and downright delicious lunch spot is helmed by Australian chef Nick Philips, and this kitchen genius uses local produce, spices and charcoal grilling to whip up a spread of dishes designed to pick and choose from Nasi Campur-style. You won’t find any rich Rendang or oily Nasi Goreng here however. Instead, expect light and zesty marinated pomelo, a chilli, cauliflower & chickpea salad, charred broccoli & lemon tahini, and Turkish-style lamb kofta with pomegranate molasses. You’ll want to arrive early too, as lunches starts at 11.30am and lasts only until everything is sold out…
