Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort once again hosted Costume Run. A fun running event for a cause, Costume Run invited guests and runners alike on a 5K run along the beach from Jalan Camplung Tanduk at 6 AM, and everyone must dress in a costume!

The hotel collaborates with Bali Wise, a local non-profit organization that empowers disadvantaged Indonesian women by improving their education and skills. The foundation supports them to break barriers with a six-month course of free lessons in English, Indonesian, IT, hospitality and business. To date, Bali Wise has helped over 800 women in securing a job since 2012, and the number keeps on increasing each year.

With registration fee at IDR 100,000 net per person, all profit from the Costume Run around Rp. 11.700.000 is donated to Bali Wise. On 8 August 2019, the hotel paid the foundation a visit to not only hand over the benefit, but also conducted a mini workshop about leadership for women.

As part of Marriott International, Inc., the hotel’s charity run is in conjunction with the corporate’s new program, Serve 360. By 2025, the company aims to reach sustainability and social impact goals through four main pillars; Nurture Our World, Empower Through Opportunity, Sustain Responsible Operations, and Welcome All and Advance Human Rights.

Aside from the running event, Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort also hosted other charity events, like a beach cleaning at Seminyak Beach, a blood donation day, and more. This included a donation to Yayasan Pendidikan Driya Raba, a non-profit foundation for visually impaired children, to support their extracurricular and shower equipment.
