Five reasons to stay at ARTOTEL when you are in Sanur area
We can’t pinpoint precisely why Sanur’s charm is so subtle, yet so very alluring. Maybe it is because the neighbourhood always wakes up early for the beautiful sunrise? Or because the trees create canopies on streets brimmed with restaurants and boutiques? Or could it be the relaxed presence and attitude of Sanurians?
A stay at ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali will guarantee you have an even stronger emotional attachment to the neighbourhood. Here are five reasons we left our he(ART) there.
The Charming Story behind the Concept
Inspired by the famous Sanur Annual Kite Festival, ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali uses kites as its main visual concept, making it a virtual canvas showcasing thought-provoking artwork by some of today’s most relevant Bali-based contemporary artists.
Studios that Inspire
By studio we mean a room. Each studio at ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali is art-infused, offering elegance and comfort in a quirky, yet modest design. It features a 49-inch flat-screen television, safe deposit box, and free Wi-Fi connection. The Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine will make you go gaga about making a cup of espresso on demand, so you can sip while on the balcony reading. We had the privilege of staying in their Studio 55 that boast a 55-square meter-sized room, hence, the room’s name. The sleek lines, wall art, work desk, and again the coffee machine, make this not only a place to unwind, but also to catch up on your work as the whole ambience stimulates your creative juices.
How they tease our “Lidah Lokal”
Initially you may plan to go out and try some of Sanur’s different neighborhood restaurants. But once we tried the in-house Assorted Grilled Satay, Batagor, Iga Bakar, and had our bellies warmed by the hearty Oxtail Soup and Soto, we end up dining here two nights in a row! If you’re a Bali resident originally from another part of Indonesia, this is the place to eat when you’re homesick for a little taste of Java, Sumatra, or Sulawesi.
We must say Lidah Lokal Chef Endra Setiawan plays it artistic with the presentation, yet simple and authentic with the taste – a lethal combo. What makes it a more pleasant experience is the service staff in their chic uniforms, and professional yet casual approach, and always with a smile. Trust their recommendations of dishes to order.
Fancy a cocktail or two? Then relax and unwind at BART at the Rooftop, or maybe swim a lap or two in its infinity pool.
Since opening in 2016, ARTOTEL has proven itself to be a hotspot for Bali’s art exhibitions. Come and be charmed by mind-boggling art installations in the hotel lobby. Prepare to be surprised and your horizons broadened, and chances are you will bump into famous artists, curators, and painters from other parts of Bali, and Indonesia too.

Location! Location! Location!
There are plenty of activities when you stay at Bali’s favourite seaside neighbourhood, such as running several kilometers along the length of the Sanur beach pathway, or using a hotel bicycle to explore. And there’s the ARTOTEL Beach Club located just a five-minute drive from the hotel for comfort food, luscious cocktails, and relaxing under the sun.
On the lobby floor at ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali, a JRR Tolkien quote may be found: “Not all those who wander are lost”. We get it. But we did lose a little something there, our heart.
